Skye Photography Walks

Located in

Glenelg & Kylerhea, Skye

A fabulous opportunity to walk and talk photography in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

£90 Per Person

This is a photographers’ dream location, you can spend a few hours exploring the endless nooks and crannies that come to life before your camera. There really is nowhere quite like the Kylerhea Narrows.

Photo walks are a laid-back way to learn more about your camera, find out what the different buttons are for on your camera and get off auto. We will explore composition and creative thinking with your tutor Ian Southerin by your side. The walks are ideal for beginners and amateurs to spend time learning from the Ian and other attendees.

You don’t need to be an experienced photographer, we’ve taught absolute beginners how to take better photos in just a few hours.

Photography Walk Itinerary

What We Will Be Doing

  • During our guided photography walk, we will be exploring different camera settings to help you get the most from your camera.

  • You will be given an introduction to controlling exposure, focus points, macro photography, white balance and shooting in black and white.

  • We will meet you at 10.30am at the Glenelg Skye Ferry Shore Station. If you are on Skye leave your car at the Kylerhea slip way and come to the Shore Station as a foot passenger.

  • After a chat and a coffee for about half an hour, we will discuss anything you particularly want to learn or to photograph.

  • We will then start our guided walk, which will include a ride on the ferry.

  • There is a lot of wildlife in this area. You will be given instruction on how to approach wildlife photography, however we cannot guarantee any sitings.

  • We walk whatever the weather, if it is raining bring an umbrella to keep your camera dry.

  • The walk takes approximately 3 hours, we won’t be ‘clock watching’.

  • You can bring any camera including your iPhone or any phone camera.
